Blackouts and regional rights
- Regional games can be blacked out on one service and shown on another depending on where you live in Canada — Sportsnet's regional NHL feeds are the classic example.
- Canadian rights are separate from US rights. A game on a US service usually is not available here, and US-only apps are geo-blocked.
- Using a VPN to dodge a blackout breaks the terms of service of every major provider, and it is not something we recommend.
Rights last verified March 2026.
